BE STILL, MY HEART!

Some preachers have trouble with lust in a variety of areas. Mine happens to be in the area of old Chevys. I try not to look, but then I look. I try not to touch, but then I touch. I say that I'll never do it again, but I do. I have sought deliverance, and finally, it seems that the Lord has heard my anguished cry. I'm broke. Now if I could just do something about these tormenting automotive dreams.

I think Joshua Harris wrote a book about your problem..., Chevys Are Not The Problem...Ford Is.

If that's true, then Josh Harris just beat out Piper as my favorite author. After all, it's hard to read Piper and still be thinking about cars.

Have you heard about aversion therapy?

The way it works is that you go out and buy a Vega and a Citation and drive them for a while. These cars will cause dreams of old Chevys to retreat into the distance.

I don't think it would work for you, though. If you love '55s and '66 Chevelles, you may have an uncurable case.

Hey, Terry. Thanks for the advice. I've tried to comment on your blog a couple of times and it woudn't take them. You've been posting some good stuff on worship.

Oh boy, the love of cars is such a guy thing. I don't profess to understand it.

However, that being said, I would really love it if I could have Jeep.

I switched to Blogger Beta and it appears to have messed up my comments. I'm going to change to Haloscan soon, hopefully.

Kim, IMHO Jeeps are better admired from afar : )

As Napolean Dynamite would say, "Sweet ride!"

I had an opportunity to buy a '55 Nomad from my uncle when I was a teenager. But he was looking to make way too much profit.

He did give me a '40 Chev that he bought for $75. I removed the engine, lined up a new rear end (well not new, it was from a '57), had a line on getting some body work done, but then I sold the car for $250. I was such an idiot.

I would love to have that car!

Jonathan, Bobby, and Rose,
Thanks for visiting.

Bug,
Your kidding! You are a car guy?

Only wistfully. I've already told you most of my "car guy" history. My dad owns half of a '27 Model T that I did a lot of work on. Flat head four, with a common casting for the engine and tramsmission. My grandpa told me that they used to have to back the T's up the hill near his house so that all the oil wouldn't vacate the engine compartment.

Not a Chev.

You don't like me after all, do you?
