SHOOT ANOTHER MONKEY, I'VE BEEN TAGGED AGAIN

It seems that, after experiencing the pith and power of your humble blogger(that's me), the world is curious as to how I keep the sharp edge on my wit and wisdom. Therefore, from time to time they tag me in a not-so-subtle attempt to discover my sources. Well, my friend, it won't work. My smarts are my own. I only read the writings of others to see if they got it right. Anyway, here 'tis.

HERE ARE THE RULES:

1. Grab the book closest to you.

2. Open to page 123; go down to the fourth sentence.

3. Post the text of the following three sentences.

4. Name the author and book title.

5. Tag three people to do the same.

HERE IS THE TEXT:

Instead of additional coal, according to L.P.Kirwan, each ship made room for a 1,200-volume library, "a hand organ, playing 50 tunes," china place settings for officers and men, cut-glass wine goblets, and sterling silver flatware. The officers' sterling silver knives were particularly interesting. The silver was of ornate Victorian design, very heavy at the handles and richly patterned.

THIS IS THE BOOK:

"LUKE VOLUME TWO: THAT YOU MAY KNOW THE TRUTH" by R.KENT HUGHES

I TAG:

R.C Sproul, Al Mohler, John Piper. Yes, they are all faithful readers of this blog. You didn't think they were just born smart, did you?

I'm no Piper or Sproul, but I'm going to post my answers on my blog.

Kim,
Piper or Sproul would benefit from your writing. Thanks for reading.

The closest book to me was stting on a shelf just above and to the right of me - a shelf I never look at - so I pulled the book and discovered it was full of mold!

Your blog has probably saved my life - who knows how long I have been breathing these spores?

I would have posted the sections, but it was a technical manual, and very, very dry.

The text of the book or the mold?

Daniel,
Thanks for visiting and commenting. I'm glad that I might have been instrumental in saving your life. Please let me know in advance if I need to prepare for a television interview, or go to the White House for an award ceremony.

Kim,

both - the mold was weird - a black and yellow fibrous, powdery thing, that would likely come off if you scraped it, but could be handled (I suppose) without getting it on your hands, well, maybe you would get some spores on you, but they would be small enough that you wouldn't see them.

Garry, I finally added you to my blogroll. I had been meaning to do that for months now. CNN and the BBC are in a bidding war for an interview about the spores right now, I have kept your name out of it so far, because I know you to be a busy fellow. So far you are being called "a concerned citizen".
